On 21 February, 2012 test flights of a middle-range UAV with operating radius of up to 100 km took place at the testing ground in Baranovichy. The UAV is capable of carrying payload of up to 30 kg and perform various tactical tasks.
During the test flights the developers tested the UAV’s takeoff and landing characteristics, flight steadiness and controllability. First test flights confirmed good aerodynamic characteristics of the plane. When equipped with payload of different types the UAV can carry out photo and video data transmission, optic-location, infrared and radar surveillance, make measurements and transmit information about weather conditions etc. This information can be useful for a wide range of users in the sphere of state defence and security, as well as different economic sectors of the Republic of Belarus.
